Revitalise in Paradise

19–25 September 2025
Tejakula, North Bali

Rejuvenate and revitalise yourself deeply—physically, emotionally and mentally.

Explore and develop your yoga practice in a supportive and encouraging environment, in the magical oasis of Bali. Escape our windy spring weather, into a place often described as paradise, and into a culture that is completely different from our own.

Our seven-day Bali Retreat is suitable for Iyengar Yoga students of all levels including those newer to yoga, returning after a break, or attending their first retreat! Tessa will ensure the practice is pitched at a level for all attendees to benefit. There will also be plenty of time for relaxation, reflection and contemplation here.

Abasan Mountain Retreat, part of Gaia Oasis in North Bali, is a secluded, environmentally sensitive sanctuary well away from the touristy parts of Bali. Here we experience authentic Balinese culture as our retreat centre is entirely run by amazing staff from the local village. Nestled in an organic farming community, offering tranquil cottages with views, lush gardens, yoga shalas, and a saltwater pool, Abasan really is like paradise on earth. In North Bali sunshine is plentiful and the gardens are beautiful with nature all around. Our chefs serve up delicious farm-to-table organic food and the retreat centre focus is on wellness, connection, and holistic rejuvenation through nature immersion.

In addition to the lovely Mountain Lotus Shala practice space, there is a beautiful open-air bale ‘Forest Shala’ which is set amongst tropical gardens with gorgeous ocean views.

We will have exclusive use of this secluded, serene and special venue.

The Retreat

Yoga
We begin the day early with morning meditation (followed by a fruit/snack and coffee break). The morning asana session will be approximately 2 hours in duration followed by breakfast. The afternoon sessions have a quieter focus which will include inversions, hip openers, forward bends, pranayama (mindful breathing practices) and restorative asana. Four to five hours practice per day, with plenty of time for resting and exploring.

Experience of meditation and pranayama is not required.

Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Delicious, healthy, mostly organic and home-grown vegetarian cuisine. Gluten-free and other dietary requirements can be catered for. Filtered water, coffee, a wide range of teas, a fruit basket, and balinese afternoon tea treats are provided throughout the retreat. Gaia Oasis is renowned for its beautiful food!

Accommodation
Six nights’ twin or single accommodation.

Day trip
A group day-trip taking in some of the breath-taking culture and scenery Bali has to offer.

Travelling to and from the retreat

The retreat will start at 2pm on Saturday 19 September and finish after lunch on Friday 25 September.

Arriving in Bali at least a day or two before the retreat begins allows you to acclimatise to the heat. The timing works to catch the Air New Zealand night flight out on the last day of the retreat (if you want to). Once registered for the retreat Tessa can offer suggestions for nice places to stay on Bali.

Transport to and from Gaia Oasis can be arranged for you from anywhere in Bali (at your own cost). Transport costs are not expensive and people will be grouped together where possible to reduce costs.
